Categories
Default and custom offence categories for classifying jail cases.
Categories help you classify and track different types of offences. Every jail case must have a category assigned.
Default categories
Every server ships with these built-in categories:
| Category | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Spam | Repeated messages, self-promotion, raid activity |
| Harassment | Targeted abuse, bullying, threats |
| NSFW | Adult content in non-NSFW channels |
| Other | Anything that does not fit the above (also used by auto-jail) |
These cannot be removed, but they can be supplemented with custom categories.
Custom categories
Administrators can add custom per-server categories using:
/jsd-categories add: creates a new category/jsd-categories remove: removes a custom category/jsd-categories: lists all categories (default + custom)
Custom names appear in the /jail category picker alongside the defaults.
Managing via the web dashboard
Categories can also be managed from the web dashboard:
Server → Categories
The dashboard provides a visual interface for adding, renaming, and removing categories.
Using categories
When running /jail, the category dropdown shows all available categories (default + custom). Select the one that best fits the offence.
Categories appear in:
- The jail case record
- The mod log embed
- Web dashboard analytics
/jsd-historyoutput
Tips
- Keep custom category names short and clear (e.g., "Raid", "Impersonation", "Alt Abuse")
- Categories are per-server: each server has its own set of custom categories
- Default categories cannot be deleted to maintain consistency across servers
