Overview
What is JSD, how it works at a glance, and where to go next.

Jailer System Detention (JSD) is a Discord moderation bot for temporary member detention. Moderators jail a member for a set time (or forever). Roles are snapshotted and stripped. When time is up, or staff releases them, roles restore and the case stays in the audit log.
What JSD does
- Jail members for a configurable duration with role stripping
- Auto-release expired cases via a background sweeper
- Appeals: jailed members can open a private channel to appeal their case
- Audit log: every action is recorded in a mod-log channel
- Escalation: warn and mute points build toward an auto-jail threshold
- Web dashboard: monitor cases, manage settings, and review appeals from the browser
The core loop
| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Detain | A jail moderator runs /jail with duration, reason, and category. JSD DMs the member and posts to the mod log. |
| Contain | The member only sees jail chat and their appeal channel. Other channels deny the jail role. |
| Appeal | The member runs /appeal. Staff get Release, Close (Deny), and Ban controls. |
| Release | The timer expires or a moderator runs /release. Roles restore. The case closes. |
Where to go next
- Invite the bot: get JSD into your server
- Server setup: configure roles, channels, and timezone
- Commands reference: every slash command explained
- Web dashboard: browser-based management
